Mike wright sucks, ondrusek sucks, Worley is meh, our only real options are Hart, Brach, givens and Britton and Zac never pitches unless we have a lead.

Our bullpen is NOT good, our stats are inflated by Britton and brach, the rest of it is actually pretty piss poor.

Dan should be talking to tommy hunters agent ASAP because the middle relief on this team is an absolute joke.

With that said, Buck trying to get 2 innings out of ondrusek and bringing in Wright with men on base were both terrible managerial decisions.

Pinch hitting your hottest hitter for Alvarez when you need 4 runs was also a mindboggling decision.

Buck is a great manager, but he definitely has some fleas.

Based on how he looked in the 7th, I knew it was a mistake to bring him out for the 8th. Everything he threw was belt high or higher. I guess Buck didn't want to use Brach in a game they were losing, even by one run. But I still might have tried Wright, because Ondrusek clearly wasn't on his game.

That is where I am.

The Bullpen not only lost O'Day but they lost Bundy too. That is a big hit.

I would have kept Jiminez in for the seventh. Anyway I am guessing Jones was injured why would you pinch hit for him?

I think BS likes to win series.....sweeping is a luxury that doesn't happen very often. This was a 4 game series (technicality not, I suppose). The O's facing Scherzer, not a possibility of a sweep. I will not waste pitching. Throw UJ. Six great innings. But going a second inning with...(don't recall his name) was just an indicator that BS was happy with a 3-1 series. Maybe he set up his team for the next series, fine. But, someone else in the bottom of the 8th might have given the O's a chance.

Injury is the only way it makes any sense which is even more depressing.

I also would have started the inning with wright. Pushing ondrusek in his first game back is a really bad decision. Compounding it by bringing in a guy who can't get outs with runners already on base is even worse.

Yeah, I was amazed Ondrusek got out of the 7th unscathed. Bringing him back out was like winning the pick four and investing the money in more lottery tickets.

    • Didn't see today's game in it's entirety but I will say this.  I feel 100% more confident with Mateo playing second and turning  a DP rather than JH right now.  JH will be fine there.  In time.   But even forgetting his hitting, D wise he just isn't there yet.   And yes I know the metrics say he is fine.  But to me, using the eye test, he looked very shaky fielding and throwing,
    • I like Kevin.  He is constantly improving.  My only beef is that he doesn't seem to understand that a foul ball isn't always out of play.   A ball can be hit foul, but still be in the field of play.
    • My preferred day 3 WR would have been Troy Franklin, but he apparently had a bad combine on positional drills (which might have been because he had the flu.)  And he got picked by Denver pretty early.   Devontez Walker is kind of intriguing.  He's 6'2", barely.   A bit on the skinny side but ran in the mid-4.3s.  His route tree is pretty limited, mostly short quickouts/slants and go/post routes. But he's really good at the deep routes.  Sort of a discount DK.  He's reported to have good hands and good deep ball tracking ability as well.  We have to see how that translates in the pro game.
    • Adley looks way more energized and McCann is veteran catcher who is good defensively and handles the pitchers well.  Doesn't really make sense to wear Adley out when the O's are using him at the top of the lineup.
    • Just seems like a more controlled swing from the right side, shorter, flatter.
    • He was signed in the Covid year when they only had a 5 round draft, which is why he was undrafted.  Was showing promise bur tore his UCL in 2022.  Pitched a little last year, this is his first full year back.  Nice to see the good outing.
    • What's up with Brandon Young? Out of nowhere (#30 prospect above... undrafted?) he goes 3 IP with 0 hits or walks, and 7 Ks, throwing an otherworldly 26 of 31 pitches for strikes, in Bowie's game today.
